UNESCO Crosses the (Green) Line: New Resolution Would Deny Israel’s Sovereignty Over West Jerusalem, Too

“At that time they shall call Yerushalayim the throne of Hashem; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of Hashem, to Yerushalayim; neither shall they walk any more after the stubbornness of their evil heart.”

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) will celebrate Israel’s Independence Day next week by voting on anti-Israel resolutions. The resolutions will be presented to the Executive Board in Paris and will expand on previous UNESCO declarations by declaring the Jewish presence in West Jerusalem to be illegal.

Diplomatic sources informed the Jerusalem Post that the focus of the new resolutions will be to challenge Israeli sovereignty in all of Jerusalem. An initial draft composed by ten European countries was presented to UNESCO last month by a group of Arab states. The draft stated  that “any action taken by Israel, the Occupying Power, to impose its laws, jurisdiction, and administration on the City of Jerusalem, are illegal and therefore null and void and have no validity whatsoever.”

The wording of this resolution goes further than previous UNESCO resolutions, which negated the Jewish connection to East Jerusalem and its holy sites while granting a religious monopoly of the city to Islam. If accepted next week, this will be the first time UNESCO has undermined Jewish sovereignty in West Jerusalem.

The resolution is also expected to reaffirm that the Jewish holy sites in Hebron and Bethlehem are Muslim. As in previous UNESCO resolutions, the Cave of the Patriarchs is referred to as Ibrahimi Mosque, and the Tomb of Rachel is referred to as  Bilal bin Rabah Mosque, both being “an integral part of Palestine”.

“UNESCO has returned to the ritual of political anti-Israeli decisions that undermines anything Israel does in Jerusalem,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Thursday.

UK Refuses to Apologize to Palestinians for 1917 Balfour Declaration

“For ever, O Hashem, Thy word standeth fast in heaven.”

The United Kingdom has rejected a request by the Palestinians to apologize for the 1917 Balfour Declaration, which helped pave the way for the founding of the state of Israel.

“The answer came in a written letter to the [Palestinian] Foreign Ministry that the apology is refused,” Manuel Hassassian, the Palestinian ambassador to the U.K., told Voice of Palestine Radio Tuesday.

“It means the queen and the government of Britain will not apologize to the Palestinian people and the celebration marking 100 years since the Balfour promise will be held on time,” said Hassassian.

A spokesman for the British Foreign Office confirmed there will be no apology and called the Balfour Declaration a “historic statement,” Reuters reported.

Ancient Menorah Etching in Pearl Proves Jewish Presence in Caesarea 1,500 Years Ago

“And there shall be six branches going out of the sides thereof: three branches of the candlestick out of the one side thereof, and three branches of the candle-stick out of the other side thereof.” Exodus 25:32 (The Israel Bible™)

Israeli archaeologists announced Wednesday the discovery of a 1,500-year-old mother-of-pearl tablet etched with a menorah in the ancient town of Caesarea.

According to Israel Antiques Authority archaeologist Peter Gendelman, the tablet, dating back to the late Roman-Byzantine period of the 4th or 5th centuries A.D., “points to clear Jewish presence at Caesarea during this period.”

Archaeologists speculate that the pearl menorah tablet was likely part of a structure used to hold a Torah scroll. The slab was uncovered near the temple devoted to Augustus Caesar, constructed by King Herod in the 1st century B.C.

Amalek Fought Israel on Biblical Battlefield of Rephidim. Today, New Generation of Ancient Enemy Appears on Same Site

“Wherefore then didst thou not hearken to the voice of Hashem, but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst that which was evil in the sight of Hashem?’”

The violent, ongoing conflict between Egypt and the Islamic State currently raging in the Sinai is a reenactment of the Biblical confrontation between Israel and Amalek, even taking place on the same battlefield, pointed out a military analyst who has turned to the Bible to make sense of current events.

Exodus tells of the legendary battle between Amalek, the ancestral enemy of the Jewish people, and the Israelites, which took place in a place called Rephidim, located in the Egyptian desert.

Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim.

Exodus 17:8

Two thousand years later, a new battle against Israel’s enemies is being staged in exactly the same place: an Egyptian airfield in Bir Gafgafa, which is located precisely on the Biblical site of Rephidim in the Sinai Peninsula.

Video: Inside the Knesset: The Israeli Parliament

Welcome to the Knesset: The Israeli Parliament where countless meetings have convened over the 69 years in Israeli state history. Did you know that the Knesset is made up of 120 seats which exactly mirrors the judicial court known as the Great Assembly (in Hebrew, the Knesset HaGedolah) from post-Biblical times. According to Jewish tradition, the Great Assembly was a group of 120 scribes, sages, and prophets that convened in the period from the end of the Biblical prophets to the time of the development of Rabbinic Judaism, which lasted about two centuries, ending in 200 BCE.

Latest Trend: Modest Swim and Activewear Gains a Growing Following

“What does God require of you but to do justice, to love kindness and to walk modestly with your God?” (Micha 6:8)

With the abundance of immodest images plaguing nearly every home or phone that has media access, more and more people are seeking modest clothing to reclaim their own sense of dignity. Even women not necessarily connected to religious dictates are seeking more modesty in their fashion choices.

“Traditional Judaism views modesty (called tzniut in Hebrew) in a holistic way,” explained Sara Wolf, co-founder of HydroChic, a company based both in Israel and in  the USA which produces fashionable modest swim and activewear, to Breaking Israel News. “This includes the manner in which one speaks, walks, thinks and dresses.”

Most religions believe that clothing testifies to the inner dignity and honor of the human being as every person possesses a Divine soul. Talmudic sages refer to one’s clothing as “that which gives honor”.

HydroChic, started ten years ago by two Orthodox Jewish women following their move to Israel, are the forerunners of today’s more modest fashion revolution. “Before HydroChic, women were often seen pool-side or at the beach wearing oversized t-shirts on top of their swimsuits,” continued Wolf. “Today, nobody wants to look frumpy. Women more commonly seek to look trendy in every situation, even while swimming and doing sports.“

The HydroChic founders credit their success to a combination of things: Their attention to detail and their fashion flair, as well as a strong  desire to fill the fashion void in modest swimwear. That, combined with the feeling that they are performing God’s will by offering functional and beautiful modest swim and activewear, is the driving force behind their company.

Biblical Quote Of The Day!

and He said: ‘If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of Hashem thy God, and wilt do that which is right in His eyes, and wilt give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases upon thee, which I have put upon the Egyptians; for I am Hashem that healeth thee.’

Today’s Israel Inspiration

In today’s verse, God is reassuring the Israelites shortly after their exodus from slavery in Egypt, instructing them that if they adhere to His commandments, He will ensure their everlasting health. Indeed we see that for the duration of their 40 years in the desert as they made their way to the Land of Israel, through the nutritional properties of the manna bread and the water from Miriam’s well, the Hebrews’ health could not have been better! Through their adherence to G-d’s commandments of caring for the bodies they were blessed with and for treating their health as a not only a virtue but a priority, Sara Wolf and Daniella Teutsch, co-founders of Hydrochic, a company that designs and creates modest swim and activewear for women of all ages, are bringing this teaching into their lives in a very real way. Now you can join the ‘movement’ and stay fit, the way God intended.
